Celebrated every year on 9 September, World EV Day is an event that highlights the importance of sustainable mobility and the advances in electric vehicle technology. This celebration not only recognises the achievements of the automotive industry but also raises awareness of the need to adopt cleaner and more ecologically friendly personal transport options. At a time when the climate crisis is at the top of the global agenda, electric cars represent a crucial step towards a cleaner and healthier future.

The road to sustainability: technological innovation

Technological innovation is changing the way we conceive transport. Electric cars are not only changing the dynamics of mobility, they are also introducing innovative new features that improve efficiency, performance and driver experience.

  • Batteries with greater capacity and autonomy: One of the main historical limitations of electric vehicles has been their limited autonomy. However, advances in battery technology are helping to overcome this obstacle. Higher-capacity lithium-ion batteries are enabling electric vehicles to cover greater distances on a single charge. Also, solid-state battery research and development promises to increase energy density even further and reduce charging times.
  • Digital integration and connectivity: Connectivity is an integral part of modern electric vehicles. Advanced user interfaces and touch screens offer access to essential information on the state of the vehicle. Connectivity also enables users to control some of their vehicle’s functions through mobile applications, such as temperature control or checking the charging status.
  • Light-weight materials and aerodynamic design: Electric vehicles are adopting lighter-weight materials and aerodynamic design techniques to increase efficiency. The reduction in weight and improved aerodynamics help to bring about greater autonomy and better overall performance.
  • Evolution of electric engines: Advances in the development of axial-type technology engines. Among other characteristics, this type of engine is more efficient and smaller in size, which means it is lighter and consumes less energy.

Endolla and the evolution of the electric vehicle

Following the fast-paced evolution of the EV industry, the Endolla Barcelona network of charging points is working hard to adapt and respond to public demand, continuing with the deployment of the public electromobility network.
Endolla participates in a number of public-private partnership innovation projects that aim, among other objectives, to make progress in efficient energy management.

Endolla Barcelona wishes you a happy World EV Day.
