From 10 to 12 April, Port Olímpic will host the 3rd edition of the Barcelona Electric Marine Show (BEMS), the leading event for sustainable sailing and the electrification of mobility. The show will reinforce Barcelona’s as an international hub for innovation, sustainability and e-mobility.
For the third year running, BEMS will bring together businesses at the forefront of the energy transition to present their sustainable water mobility solutions. This year, the event is going even further, incorporating key players in land-based e-mobility, thus strengthening the connection between the city and the sea.
E-mobility: A real connection between land and sea
One of the key themes at BEMS is the integration of different forms of e-mobility within a single ecosystem. This all-encompassing vision highlights the importance of charging infrastructure and accessibility for users.
Endolla Barcelona will have its own stand at this edition, strengthening its role as the city’s leading public charging network contributing to cleaner, more efficient mobility model and supporting city residents in the e-mobility transition.
Other participants include manufacturers such as Tesla and Xpeng, which will be presenting their latest models, as well as electric motorbike and urban solution brands showcasing their lightweight mobility products.
Innovation in e-mobility and charging
The exhibition area at Moll de Mestral will host some of the most significant innovations in the sector, including electric boats, zero-emission jet skis and new charging solutions for vehicles and boats.
These technologies are paving the way for a future where e-mobility will be more efficient, better connected and powered by renewable energies. Improved charging infrastructure (in both urban and port environments) is key to scaling up the adoption of electric vehicles.
Barcelona, leading the way in sustainability and the blue economy
BEMS is being held at a strategic time for the city, which is strengthening its international position as a hub for the sustainable blue economy. Barcelona is embracing a smart city model based on decarbonisation, digitalisation and energy efficiency.
Furthermore, Port Olímpic has been a pioneer in the installation of ultra-fast charging points for electric vessels powered by solar energy, thus reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.
An event open to city residents
At the weekend, BEMS will be open to the public, with free activities that combine outreach, sport and leisure. The open nature of the event makes e-mobility more accessible to the public and raises awareness of the benefits of a more sustainable mobility model.
An expanding ecosystem
E-mobility is here to stay and is set to keep growing. Events like BEMS are connecting businesses, institutions and users, accelerating innovation, and creating new opportunities.
The future must integrate electric vehicles, smart charging networks and more efficient energy use. Barcelona is positioning itself as a city at the cutting edge of this transformation.
