The new General State Budget for 2022 provides for more financial support to incentivise the purchase of electric vehicles and promote sustainable mobility among citizens.
Proposed subsidies include a initial budgetary item of 445 million euros for the electric mobility sector, and encompassing subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles, innovation in electromobility projects, the roll-out of networks with charging points and the renewal of company vehicle fleets.
What support and subsidies will there be in 2022?
The Moves Plan will continue to be the main financial support and subsidy programme to incentivise the electromobility sector in 2022.
The Moves Plan III will remain in place and follow on from the Moves Plan II, mainly focused on the purchase of electric vehicles and recharging networks, carrying on until 2023. At present, the plan has an initial budget of 400 million euros, which may be increased to 800 million.
The Moves Singulars Plan II will continue to be valid for companies, universities, research and development centres and public sector entities, with 100 million euros to be shared out in subsidies for innovative projects in electromobility and tech development.
One new aspect is the prospect of adding the budget for the Moves Grans Flotes Plan to the Moves Plan III. Announced at the last edition of Automobile de Barcelona and with a budgetary item of 50 million euro, annually extendable until 2023, this is a programme aimed at companies with more than 500 vehicles, to help them renew their fleet of pollutant vehicles.
Want to purchase or renew your electric car?
The Moves Plan III offers subsidies of up to €9,000 for the purchase of electric vans and up to €7,000 for acquiring family cars, if the owner scraps a vehicle that is over 7 years old. The maximum purchasing price of a vehicle may be as high €45,000. If the previous vehicle is not scrapped, the subsidies can be up to €4,500 for buying an electric car and €7,000 for a van.
For plug-in hybrids, with an electric range of between 30 and 90 km, the subsidies for scrapping a polluting vehicle can be up to €5,000.For electric motorbikes costing no more than €10,000, the maximum subsidy will be for €1,300 if scrapping a vehicle.
This programme is not compatible with other subsidies or grants whose main objective is to promote sustainable mobility and which are offered by other public or private, national or international administrations.
